A Remotion alternative for Claude Code

Remotion is excellent and widely used. This page is for people who want code-driven video from a coding agent but would rather not maintain a React project for every clip.

What is the same

Both treat a video as code: deterministic, versionable and editable by an agent. Both render frame by frame with a headless browser and FFmpeg. Both can be driven entirely from Claude Code or Codex.

What differs

Authoring: Remotion compositions are React components. HyperFrames compositions are single HTML files with timing in data attributes and a GSAP timeline.
Project weight: Remotion is a Node project with dependencies. A HyperFrames video can be one file plus its fonts.
Editing: HyperFrames includes a studio with a timeline where clips can be trimmed and retimed by hand.
Licence: HyperFrames is Apache-2.0. Remotion uses its own licence, free for individuals and small teams and paid for larger companies. Read the terms before commercial use.

Which to choose

You already have a React codebase and components to reuse: Remotion.
You want an agent to produce a self-contained file you can open and edit: HyperFrames.
You want finished styles and a workflow on top: MotionKit, which builds on HyperFrames.
