Claude Motion not showing up? Here is why
If you cannot find Motion in Claude, the most likely reason is your plan, not a bug. Here is how to check in a minute, and what you can do instead.
Check these four things
- Your plan. Motion launched in beta on 8 October 2026 for Team and Enterprise workspaces. It was not announced for Free, Pro or Max.
- Your workspace. If you belong to both a personal account and a work one, make sure you are in the work workspace.
- Your admin. On Enterprise, an administrator has to switch Motion on in the organisation settings. On Team it was reported as on by default.
- The date. Beta features roll out gradually and plan rules change. Anthropic’s release notes are the source of truth.
If your plan does not include it
You have two honest options. Wait and see whether Anthropic brings Motion to more plans, or get the same kind of result another way.
The other way: Motion works because the animation is written as code. A coding agent can write that code on your own computer and an open-source renderer turns it into video. If you are on Pro or Max you already have Claude Code. MotionKit is a paid skill pack that sets this up: 16 finished styles, a storyboard-first workflow and one install command.
It is not the same product. You work in a terminal-based agent instead of the Claude chat window, and you need Node.js and FFmpeg installed. If that sounds like too much, waiting is a reasonable choice.

Questions
Is Claude Motion available on the Pro plan?
At its beta launch on 8 October 2026 Motion was announced for Team and Enterprise only. Check Anthropic’s pricing page for the current state.
Is it available on the Free or Max plan?
Not at launch. The same applies: Team and Enterprise workspaces only, in beta.
Can I get the same thing without upgrading?
You can get the same kind of output, editable code-driven animation exported as MP4, with a coding agent such as Claude Code plus an open-source renderer. MotionKit packages that. It is an independent product, not Anthropic’s feature.
Do I need to code?
No, but you do need to be comfortable pasting one command into a terminal and talking to a coding agent. The agent writes the code.
