Remotion skill or HyperFrames skill?
If you want Claude Code to make videos, you will meet two code-first renderers. They solve the same problem with different materials, and the difference matters more for an agent than for a person.
The short version
- Remotion: videos are React components. Powerful, with a large ecosystem. Companies above a size threshold need a paid licence.
- HyperFrames: videos are HTML files with timing attributes and a paused animation timeline. Apache-2.0, with a timeline editor included.
Why HTML suits an agent
An agent edits text well. A composition that is one HTML file can be read, changed and checked without a build step, and a mistake shows up as a failed check rather than a broken project.
MotionKit is built on HyperFrames for that reason. It adds what a renderer does not have: finished styles, a content format the agent fills in, and checks on the content itself.
Questions
Can I use this with Remotion?
No. The pack writes HyperFrames compositions.
Is there a free option?
Yes. Our starter on GitHub has two styles and the video workflow, and several open-source skills exist. We list the ones we checked.
